The Cat is out of the bag! Mercedes Nieto is coming to Orlando to teach, share her experiences, and meet you at the O-town Bellydance Inensive in 2026!
Who Is Mercedes Nieto?
Internationally renowned, world-famous oriental dancer, instructor, and choreographer. Founder and principal organizer of the CAIRO! Fest Budapest since 2007, founder and head of the Nymph Oriental Dance Company since 2005, Master Teacher of the Nile Group Festival (Cairo, Egypt) since 2010. One of Europe’s most sought-after belly dancers, she has taught and performed in more than 40 countries around the world in recent years.
“I started studying oriental dance in 1997 with Tia, who was one of the first to teach classical Egyptian belly dance in Hungary, and who became one of the most defining personalities and masters of my life. I used to dance to jazz ballet, and flamenco, and have been a part of the stage since I was eleven. On the paternal branch, due to my Spanish origin, music and dance have been present in my life from the very first moments, and nowadays they are almost complete.”
Joining Forces
Jennifer and Anais have been co-producing events in the Central Florida community for almost a decade. From Cassandra’s Caribbean invasion to the O-town Bellydance Intensive (our re-branded event), both have taken their love for fostering community and learning and joined forces to make these bellydance intensives come to fruition. Their friendship has provided the basis for a fun and dynamic combination that creates events by dancers, for dancers. Our re-branded event focuses on providing intensives, where you can not just learn from the artist, but get the opportunity to talk and get to know the humans behind the glitz. O-town Bellydance Intensive is more than a workshop weekend; we share local MENAHT businesses and invite the MENAHT community of Orlando to be an integral part of it all. We thank our community for their support all these years and will continue to bring amazing talent here to serve our communities and highlight MENAHT businesses and groups.
About Your Event Organizers
Anais
Anais Fatale loves introducing women to the art of belly dance and showing them how belly dancing can help them find happiness and independence.
Born in Uzbekistan, she grew up listening to songs from Turkey, Lebanon, and Egypt that were popular for Western artists to translate and sing. Becoming a belly dancer brought her freedom, creativity, and self-expression.
She began teaching belly dance because there wasn’t anyone offering classes in her town. She wanted people to experience happiness and independence in her belly dance classes and workshops. Anais Fatale’s approach to teaching belly dance is to dedicate time in each class to let people experience freedom, creativity, and self-expression through dancing and flowing to belly dance music.
Jennifer
Jennifer is a world champion belly dance winner, author, designer, and Let’s Talk producer. She is also a co-host of the O-Town Bellydance Intensive and seeks to create events that open up opportunities to learn from experienced dancers, provoke deep conversation in a supportive setting, and build more interaction and appreciation with dancers and MENAHT community.
Her background as a musician has given her a deep appreciation for MENAHT music. Her mission as a performer is to bring the composer’s piece to life and share a connection with the audience.
